Sharp, good detail and excellent exposure. Light looks a bit on the harsh side but not too bad.

    Hey Tom,
In this case the environs add to the image.....although I would hav epreferred if the tail didn't nip te grass. Very minor and doesn't take away from an excellent image!

Beautiful image, great soft colours. The subtle hint of habitat is perfect. For shorebirds (and most others actually) I prefer more separation between the legs, but not a huge deal...

Great bg and bird and I like the hair-doo coming down the back of his neck.

Nice shot, Tom..very nice. loved the crossed legs pose....it works esp. very well for long-legged birds. Excellent comp and BG...blurred but we still get the feel of the habitat. exposure looks good. Nice soft feather details.

A very delicate look to this, Tom, attractive BG and habitat.

Thanks all. At first I was unsure about the BG/habitat then realised that this is where they live and gives more meaning that just blue water. This was taken at 2.11pm so sun still a bit high. It is nice to not have the strong killer sun of the summer as we are going into our winter.
