This is a set up. D700, 300mm, 1.4tc, tripod. 1/500, f7.1, ISO 800. Cropped in ACR. Set white point and small adj. in levels, lightened eye, usm in CS3. This little chipping sparrow was soaked from a downpour back in March.

That is a sad looking sparrow!
Nice wet details and the usual nice BG, Jack.

Moody....gives a nice glimpse into their world. Lovely background for this soaked little bird.

Excellent techs and the BG and perch are very nice too. I may have preferrred a vert or a bit tighter comp.....but a nice one nevertheless!

Hi Jack, good leaning pose, and I do like the wet feather detail around the chest and head. Yep, great smooth BG too. Comp wise, if I would keep the horizontal, I would take some off the top, otherwise a vertical will work here as Roman has mentioned.

I'm with Stuart in regards to the crop (plus some at left to retain the aspect ratio), but all else looks fantastic. I do realize you may have wanted to keep the stripped upper part of the perch in...
