    Hi Joel. I do that all the time with the title -- wish I could edit it myself (and I have, more than once, typed heron when I meant egret).

    As for the image, I like it. The egret pose/activity is interesting and I love seeing the foot like that. The framing is good with the shoulder (which, in my mind, is the prominent feature here) near the ROT corner. I'm not sure about the other log in the water. It draws my eye to it and might stand a bit of cloning, but then the balance might be off in the overall image. I'd be interested in your response to that. I

    Hi Joel, I fixed the title... Nice exposure and detail. I vote for losing the other log, it does seem distracting to my eye. There is a strong purple cast to the image, especially noticeable in the perch but you can see it in the bird also. A visit to the color balance filter or white balance in LR would fix it right up.

    Oh, what the heck... I just did it myself to illustrate what I am seeing. In PS CS5 I used the "color balance" filter and used the same recipe on highlights, mids, and shadows - lower the blue and raise the green and red.
