    Default High Key Tulip

I began with a slightly overexposed image, added Color Efex Pro High Key and Glamor Glow filters, adjusted lightness and darkness of various areas, ran DeNoise. I took the photo indoors using natural light and a 105mm macro.

    C & C always appreciated. :-)

Love the softness. With such softness, thee might be a difficulty having sharp edges too, but you have overcome that. Compositionally, that little petal sticking out on the left adds balance, I think, and connects visually with the bigger one leaning to the left. I could see this as a fabric print.

Hazel: Thank you for your detailed comments. I do appreciate them. :-) (I notice the use of "thee." Is the Quaker?)

Anita, I love the delicate quality of this image...a soft, almost pastel luminance, strengthened by subtle compositional elements; the upturned petal at the bottom...the complimentary curved and lighter petal near the top...the arc of the stem..this is really well done. It might be neat to see what texture might add to this...a lot of possibilities from such a strong base!

Thanks, John. I use textures so much that I was delighted to have one that didn't have a texture. :-) But, I think I will experiment with some textures.

Anita, This is lovely. I might take a sliver off the right side if it were mine. The background has a slight grey ish look that I would try to lighten a little more if it were mine. Lovely tulip and beautifully captured!

Hi Anita, lovely tulip image..I like the way it is curving within the comp. Agree with Denise's suggestions to tweak the crop a little.

What a beauty! Agree with Denise on the right side being just a bit grey. IMO you might even be able to take this even more high key and still have a really outstanding image. Either way, you sure have a winner here! It's beautiful!

I appreciate the excellent comments. I made the bg whiter and cropped some off the right. I like it better that way. Will consider higher high key. :-)

Anita, I love the pink and green combination and especially like the high key look.
