    took this yesterday,lighting a bit over cast,got better later,but too bright.cannon 7d,cannon 500mm L IS,ISO500.1/500 SEC,F5/6,700MM,cropped for vert,tad sharpening,a bit of brightening.comments good or bad.thanks.

    Everything looks real nice. The exposure looks spot on and I love the background.

    I have only two suggestions:

    1. Crop off some of the rock, its to large for the bird.
    2. You mentioned it was overcast, this would've been the perfect time to have a flash.
    With the flash you would've been able to add a catch light to the eye.

    Looks real good to me. Love the exp., bg, and sharpness. Good points by Doug.

    good advice by Doug. agree with everything he has said. another thing you could have done here is increase the ISO but stop down a bit for more DOF.
