    Default Two open mouths

Ive gone for a portrait here, as when this Pied Kingfisher came out the water with his catch, he landed on a perch where it was being partially shaded by another part of the tree. I realise that the head is angled slightly away from me, but it also gives me a good angle of the fish with the open mouth directly at me. Taken over the weekend in the Pilanesberg National Park. This is a bit of a crop than what I would have liked.

Unreal, very unique and very well done.
This has to be a very large crop, but the IQ is very good.

This is absolutely fantastic. The fish with it's open mouth adds so much drama to the image. Looks like a great day out fishing! Job well done.

A great capture of a moment in nature,Stu.Well done. The whites are well exposed and the IQ is very good for a presumably large crop. The portrait works well here.

Nice one Stu on a clean BG. Crop detail loss is noticeable but still not bad at all on the IQ front!

A great close up, super pose and detail. The quality looks good to me and the focus is spot on.

Thanks Christopher. According to the metadata/exif info from bridge, it shows 8.4m. When I look back, its sounds correct.

Thanks a stack to everyone else for the kind words.

Stuart, IQ has held up quite well. Low ISO, perfect exposure, super clean BG and stopped-down-bit-from-wide-open....these things always helps in big crops. Would you mind sharing the orig?...just to get an idea.

awesome shot...at multiple levels. loved the fish mouth and details on the KF.

Thanks a stack all.For Kaus, here is the original just downsized to 1024 wide. As can be seen, I was concentrating on the head area, due to all the shady areas.

A real stunner. Very sharp and just love the open mouths. Unusual capture. I also like the way the tongue points to the fish.
