    took this image on Friday,while trying out a cannon 500mm IS L F/4 that somebody was selling,took the shot from his living room into is garden,did not realise how colorful this common bird is,cannon 500mm F/4 IS L,11/4 EXTENDER,tripod,F5/6,1/160sec,iso500.I bought the lens.hope to improve images when I get used to it.comments good or bad.thanks.

    I like the colours, I sense perhaps a little too much brightness. The lens looks good! I am sure you will be absolutely delighted with it, the more you use it the more you will be impressed by it.

    Nice shot Christopher; amazing just how "tropical" they are. Looks a little soft , guess thats the converter?
    If you dont like the lens donate it to me; I can collect anytime lol

    Hi Chris, this fellow certainly does have an array of colours, and the same goes with the BG. The crop is a touch too square, but thats a personal thing, and looking forward to plenty more from your new toy.

    Congrats on the new purchase. Starlings are indeed beautiful...esp. so in the breeding season. Details look great. Crop is a little too tight though. Nice BG.

    Hi Christopher, make sure you have IS always on, (you will here it whirring), if it's not giving you as crisp an image when compared to your existing lenses, get it calibrated by Canon.

    Enjoy your new purchase, it is a real workhorse.
