A sandpiper's reflection
This was clicked in the morning light at a lake nearby, with the 100-400 L. I should have cropped a bit to remove the distracting mud in the upper RH corner, I did not crop too much for the fear for ruining IQ. How much crop does a 7D allow generally?
Thanks for looking and C & C welcome.

Wow Doug, you did an amazing job with my image! It's looks so much better and gives me an idea what can be achieved with a bit of work on it! Appreciate it a lot!
Thanks

Sanjeev, I agree with Doug that this is a beautiful image and a pristine reflection. IMO, his crop takes it a bit too tight and I would vote for something in-between, but would be interested in what others would say. As for the amount of crop allowable by a 7D, that is very dependent on subject matter, exposure, lens used, etc. You can sometimes get away with quite a bit. The nice thing about digital photography is that you can try things and whether or not they work for you.

Sanjeev, I agree with Ian about the crop, also preferring one that is somewhere in-between yours and Doug's. With a less tight crop however, you would probably need to clone out some of the distracting elements in the water (is it mud?). The reflection is perfect in this image! --Wendy

Thanks Wendy and Ian, yes it is mud as this was a drying lake bed. I think a moderate crop seems the best option with cloning out the mud! Appreciate it folks!
