    Default Fracted Anna!

Here is another fracted image of Anna's Hummingbird. I took this last month one evening... I was hanging out behind hummingbird sage as this hummer moved from flower to flower giving me opportunity to get few nice images. I loved the perspective of peeking from just behind the flower. For processing, added a tiny bit of canvas on the left and cleaned the bg. Applied multiple layers with different fractalius settings and used masks to paint over creating this final effect. Also used few adjustment layers for selective color, curve and saturation. Hope you like it...

I am not a big frac fan but I think it works really well here. Like it a lot.
The only thing that bothers me a bit is the red of the flowers near the beak. I find it takes a bit of attention away from the bird. Perhaps less saturation on the flower??

A beauty, Indranil! I like it as posted. Would like to see it bigger though.

Nice capture and filtering Indranil. I like the sharp eye and the details. I like the background also.

I agree with Allan's suggestion to tone the flowers down a bit. You did a nice job with the selective use of Fractalius. More stylized on the flowers and less on the hummingbird was a good way to go. I kind of wish the effect from the head to the body was more gradual, but I expect the actual color of the bird changes abruptly.

Nice capture! It must have been fun watching this little bird flit around. Beautiful colors. I especially like the fuschia against the blue bg. I, too, would tone down the flower near the bird to help separate them. Lovely work.

Thank you folks... I really appreciate it. Here is a repost with the changes as suggested - reduced saturation on the flower, cleaning the red around the flower and larger size.

Indranil, the repost nails it...wow...outstanding use of Fractalius...strong composition, good job of blending abstraction and detail (something not always the easiest to find the right mix of...a feeling of depth, a feeling of movement...strong image!
