Hey everyone...finally found some time to play! This is a rose image from last weekend. I used Nik's Color Efex filters (Dark Contrasts, Solarize and Polaroid Transfer) to tone down the colors and give the image an "antiqued" feel.

I like the composition, but it's the fabulous color combination that does it for me. I'm glad you found time to play. And hope you find some more.

Jules, we must make time to play! This is really pretty, and I love the composition and color. I think you have a great opportunity to make a business card from this image, as there is lots of nice space on the right for text. The texture and deep contrast really make the flower pop. Nice one!

Jules, Great look to this one! I love the aged look and the solarize filtering is perfect. I might darken the leaf in the LLC if it were mine. Glad you had time to play-we have all missed your creative talents!

Jules, a unique image...one that I've come back to a time or two, and find myself liking more and more. Denise makes a good suggestion, and it might be interesting to select the bloom and open up the shadow areas JUST a smidge...nicely done!

Thanks for the comments. Denise, I agree...I'll take another look at that leaf and tone it down. John, I also wondered about the depth of the tones in the flower but thought it might just be my monitor. I'll open them up a smidge before I try printing. Thanks!

I love this look, the colors and texture are fabulous! Very nice work! I'll have to try some of those filters on my roses when I have time to play.

Wonderful composition, Julie. I too like the antique look.. in fact Topaz Adjust has a similar dark rose preset in toned collection. TFS

I think you succeeded brilliantly. I like the composition and the subdued colors, which preserve the details and shade variations of the flower.
