    Default Common Flicker.

I took this shot early in the morning with the sun behind my back.
Based on the advices given by Randy of the previous but very similar shot,
I lowered the saturation and exposure of the blue part.
I also added a little canvas to the bottom.
Wish list; separation of the beak, no blue just nice colours in the background.
    Thanks for looking.

Fantastic pose and great detail. A little tight at the bottom of the frame. Overall one of your better images Karl!

Love the wings swept back and all the glorious color. I am fine with the room below that bird. This might work well as a near-square....

    Karl, very nice.
I think a tad bit of desaturation would look nice,
    Excellent pose, environment and focus.
    Congrats on a great shot.

Is this a type of wood pecker?

I like the pose and the interesting patterns and colours of the bird. I was going to say that it overall looks a bit yellow then read your description so the yellow makes sense as it is early morning light. TFS

This is superb Karl. I love the wing position and the sky background is better here than in your last post.

    Thanks Tom.
Yes, it is a funny type of woodpecker.
It spends most of its time on the ground catching insects there.
    It is a cavity nester.

Awesome image. I would try to brighten the under wing shadow in the raw process a bit more. Love the pose and BG colors.

Kick butt image, Karl. I just love the colors on this bird and the movement and position of the wings. This appears to have been taken in pretty bright light, and I Feel as though the tree is competing a tad with the bird. I would consider lowering the brightness on the tree. We'll be waiting for the BIF.

I like your sense of humor.
In capital F, I like 68-73 degrees this time of the year.
After a long winter we would deserve it.
Actually the very strong wind is a killing here. Birds don't like it, we don't like it.
As far as f goes I like it to be between f/5.6-8.0, favorite is f/7.1. On the 300 f2.8 I'm OK with f/5.6.
f /32 is horroble. In fact anything above f/16 is a no no as the diffraction would negatively effect resolution and dynamic range.
Migh even f/16 is way too high for certain lenses.

Hi Karl I like the swept back wings, and overall, well timed to get this. The bird is nice and sharp, and I really like the colours of the BG, even the blue. A fine image and well captured.

Love the exposure. How about cropping a bit off the left?
