I would advise against it. Li-ion batteries can be dangerous in that they explode and cause fire if they are made to save money. it seems a very bad idea to spend $5K on a camera and risk your investment as well as potential injury by buying cheap third party battery.

Thanks Arash, I do agree with you...
I do know that canon doesnt make batteries, and they are made someware else, maybe even in China... I asked, because maybe there is the the market some batterie with the same quality control, or even made in the same place.

    I'll never buy a 3rd party again. I have a 1d Mark II. Bought a 3rd party from amazon.com. It was
great after a few charges. Then one day while I was in another room, my battery was charging.
I heard this big loud POP. The battery was almost to hot to touch. I'm just glad I was home at
the time. Who knows what might have happened if I wasn't.

Thanks Doug, I've already heard about cellular 3rd party batteries that is always during charging that they usually "explode", never during normal utilization on phone, in this case on camera.
I want to buy a second one from canon, but if I need e third or a forth batterie, maybe I'll buy some of the 3rd party brands with good review on stores like amazon or similar, still need some advice of user who already use some of them.

Delkin is an USA company and they have generic batteries.

I never used their batteries so I can't comment on that.

I have used Phottix batteries (canon 50D) and bought directly from Ebay.
They seemed recycled. I would say you can get a good copy or not.
    I would not buy again.

I would also go with the original. I used them in a vertical grip, so if they exploded or leaked the damaged would be limited to the grip.
That would not be the case with a 1D series body,
