    Default Common Pigeon

I have always had a sweet spot for the common pigeon. I don't know why this bird has been saddled with such a bad reputation, and sometimes feel that the lowly pigeon is the scapegoat for all things that humans don't like about birds. Anyway, here is a pigeon, or rock dove, or rock pigeon - whichever you prefer. Captured in late afternoon light, full frame. Noise reduction on the background (Topaz DeNoise) and sharpening on the bird (unsharp mask in PS).

Really nice capture, Kerry! Love the wing position and the straight on view! One of the best Rock Pigeon shots I've seen!

I like pigeons and this one is beautiful! Excellent light, exposure, pose, and sharpness. A different look at a pigeon, very well done.

I like it also Kerry. I like the spread tail, the visible feet, the wing position & the eye contact. It is well exposed & sharp. Well done.

    Kerry,

The story here is the beauty of flight, full wings and a fanned tail. This is the kind of image I like, very original subject placement and composition not to mention a perfectly muted background - like it as presented.

really beautiful Kerry - the fanned tail and the wings are lovely- love the greyish colors of the bird and background broken by the pink of the feet and eyes.

Really cool shot. Nice contrast between the white, grey and reddish pink. Beautiful background too. Sometimes common can be super stunning!
