    Default Wigeon

This one surprised me and I was not able to track it for a bit to get good focus and more interesting poses.

Cool pose, angle and details. The light looks a bit harsh but you handled it well.

    Tom,
I really like the wing position, as well as the overall feel of this one. I realize that you said this wigeon caught you off guard, so you probably already know that the light angle could have been a little better (with the sun to your back) to avoid the shadow on the bird's breast. My only real critique is a technical one, and that is that I wonder if it would be stronger if the wigeon's head was darker and the body, as a whole, had more contrast? It wouldn't take much, but I think that it's hair too light. Cheers,
    David

    Hi Tom,

Love the low angle. Very nice exposure and wings position. I like it as presented.

Very cool! I love the stretched back wing position combined with the fanned out tail feathers. I wonder if you could darken the pupil a bit?

Even if you didn't get to "work" the bird much and had to take the angle you had, I like it overall. I, too, would like to see the bird a tad darker with more contrast. Congrats on the shot though!!!
