This was taken in Costa Rica in January. It was in a dark area in the rain forest. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated

Very attractive Hummingbird. It looks the the top of the head and and back are a bit soft.
Is 1/25 accurate? That would explain it, was a flash possible?

Thanks Dan. I had the flash set-up for fill but it did't fire. The 1/25s is accurate.

Very tricky image but you did exceptionally well. I appreciate the light was low, however I would suggest ISO 800 and a slightly smaller aperture would have given a tad more DOF and the rear of the head would then have been in focus, easier said than done, I appreciate the difficult circumstances.

Beautiful colour, BG and clarity Jim, agree on a touch more DOF.

Jim, excellent sharpness at that SS. I am liking the shallow DOF here..puts the focus on the sharp killer feathers and the eye. perfect HA.

Simple perch which brings out the beauty of the bird even more. Great pose, nice head turn and lovely background, Jim.

Very nice hummer, if mine, I would warm the exposure a tad.
