    Default Rosescape II

Another in what may prove to be a series of roses...this one shot with the 180mm, f/22@1/40. Processed in LR; added a layer of Topaz Simplify, a layer of Fractalius, and a layer of NIK Color Efex (can't recall the filter at the moment), at varying degrees of opacity and with different blend modes. I was trying for something similar to a Georgia O'Keefe painting in style; not sure if I achieved it or not, but the journey was fun!

Well, this should end the question about whether there were already too many rose images. This is gorgeous. The composition and tones are wonderful. The details you captured in your photo are beautifully enhanced by your use of Fractalius. At the same time, it's both delicate and bold. Well done.

I would like t see this in a very large print on a wall. This is beautiful and quite different.

I really love the texture, blended with the soft shades of color. This is very nicely done.

I have no idea why looking at this makes me think of food. Earlier today, it was golden vanilla ice cream. Now, it's lemon meringue pie. You haven't hidden any subliminal messages in the image, have you?

Thank you for the comments...and Dennis, no subliminal messages...if I had planted some, they would have gone more toward a glass of Chardonnay!

John, this is perfect! I think this reminds me more of O'Keefe than the #3 because of the stronger edges.

John, this is stunning. I love the depth achieved by the textures, colors and the curving rose petals. You are definitely on to something!
