    Hi Andreas,

Great moment that you have captured; Avocets are such wonderful birds. Two things to think about - one is that the image needs a little anti-clockwise rotation, the reflection should align vertically. The second is to ask if the reflection is really contributing enough to the image to warrant it being included.

I have been promising myself a visit to Texel for a long time, but not made it yet!

    Best wishes,

    Gerald

    Andreas:

Good points from Gerald. I thought about the reflection as well. It is somewhat distorted from water action, and I would try a version with it cropped up from the bottom to just above the wing reflection of the male bird. This leaves enough of the reflection to balance the visual weight of the birds, while still leaving enough vertical height to keep the vertical framing proportions pleasant. If you have more room to the left, then you could convert it to a horizontal crop with most of the reflectition cropped out.

The tighter crop would also help us see more detail in the birds.

I would rotate it CCW as mentioned by Gerald.

    Cheers

    Randy

Hi Andreas, Randy has explained for me! If you prefer it with the reflection, that is fine! It is your vision!
    Cheers,

Yes I too would include the reflection but I agree a little CCW rotation is required. I assume this was early morning and there was just a little mist around? The image appears slightly soft.

I can tell you that it was a bit misty ,plus the 500 with 2 x tc made it difficult to get 100% clear and very sharp shot.

    thanx for your comments guys

    Andreas
