Handsome he is. I like the stare you managed to capture and like the subject placement.

    Hi Vikram, looks like Bandhavgarh?

Certainly a big guy and nice to see a muddy Tiger too, they love the water. The stare makes it, haven't an issue with the road inclusion, just not 100% sure about the foliage in the LHC, although the diagonal line from that to the Tigers face does kind of draw you in? Can't comment on the D700, but would think you can up the ISO to give yourself more SS.

What a brute! Love the stare and overall colours here, Vikram.
It would've been stronger without the bush, but I don't mind its inclusion.
You can easily shoot the D700 at ISO1600 without worrying about noise or IQ .

I can't believe you hand held that 200-400 at 125 with such nice results. I need to work on my upper body strength, I have to be up to at least 500th.
Very nice image, as was said the stare is great and the mud adds to the image as well

@ Steve This is from Tadoba (TATR)

@ Harshad, you are right he is "Shivaji"

The reason for inclusion of the bush on LHS is that... this season I am tired of Tiger in yellow/brown background... I have got very few images with green hue.

Increasing ISO was possible but I think even at 1/125 there is no shake in the image.

I was so overwhelmed after seeing this tiger that I just clicked in almost hypnotized state.
