Hi Dumay, really like the contrast in subject and colour, a very simple, yet striking image with the Zebra markings, and a very restful pose too.Like the way you have just brought out that 'chestnut' colouring of the eye, just enough.
If it was me, I might look at cropping on the LHS where the two diagonal manes meet, about half an inch.

Hi Dumay, Superb image mate, very simple as Steve said and love the pose. I do agree with taking off the LHS slightly![]()
Dumay - simple, yet elegant. I like this a lot. Super bg and IQ. I agree with a little off the left and might also consider cropping a bit from the rhs, I find the three fingerprint like markings drawing my eye.
TFS,
Rachel
I'm a huge fan of zebra images and really like how this highlights their stripes against a soft bkgd. The juxtaposition of the head of one over the back of another is creative.
A great moment, Dumay, great IQ too...
I fully agree with Steve's crop suggestion.

Nicely done indeed

Thanks guys, I tried the crop...May look at B&W too
Dumay, more to the point, how do you feel about this? Personally I feel conversion to B/W won't have the same impact, however always worth a go and be proved wrong.
Just interested, can you tell me, looking at it again, these are the same species therefore what causes the colouring in the hides to be so different? The rear one is quite B/W, where as the body is more creamy and the blacks are more blue/black.
cheers

Thanks guys... Morkel here's the B&W
Steve, I dont mind the crop either way for me they both look good, regardingteh Zebra colors this species is one of the 2 we have in SA, the one is the Cape Mnt Zebra and this is the Plains Zebra. The Cape Mnt Zebra has Stripes down to the rib then stopping, and the stripes on the legs dont go all the way down to the hoof. The Cape Mnt Zebra is also black- white, black-white and so on, whereas the Plains Zebra has whats called a shadow stripe of lighter almost brown color hair on the white area which is very visible on some and not always visible on all individuals. The shadow stripes also only occur on the body and not on the head so thats why you cant see them on the haed of the one but are visible on the body of the other. Also the brown color you will sometimes see on Zebra's is from the fact that they love to dust bathe as well as from sleeping on sandy roads or areas, this affects the respitory system of the ecto-parasites..... Hope that answers your questions.![]()

Dumay - I like the crop and the b&w. The b&w conversion looks good and there's a graphic feel to it.

Rachel
It does Dumay, thanks for going into the detail.![]()
