Another recent arrival, a lovely breeding plumage White Throated Sparrow. This image taken at Jack Pine Trail close to my home.

I like the over the shoulder lookback, sharpened, cropped.....cleaned up the background a bit. Colors look good. Thanks for looking

Hey Paul, Nice pose and great BG. I also like the head angle on this one. Very nice. TFS

Beautiful species and bird and background. F/11 might have sharpened up the tail a bit. Here are my fine point thoughts on the head angle. While the HA here is certainly acceptable absolute perfection on the over-the-shoulder portraits for me is perfectly square to the back of the camera.

Exposure, comp., and sharpness are great. Bg is beautiful. There was still a few of these birds here yesterday but I think they left last night as I saw none today.

Hi Paul, good pose, and your choice of comp was the only way to go. This angle shows of the various colours nicely, great eye, and just love the BG.

nicely shot, Paul - love the colours on the face that adds some 'pop'...sharp where it matters for my tastes, but f11 would've been good as well
I'd try darkening BG just a tad to make the bird stand out even more.

Very nice sparrow and look-back pose, I only find the light a bit harsh.
