I took this picture in 2008, virtually the only shot I have of this species of Sparrows.
It is only a wagrant in our area.
There had been only a few reported birds of this species here in Ontario throughout the years, if I'm correct.
    Thanks for looking.

    Karl:

    Sharp, well exposed, lovely eye.

Would prefer the leaves in the BG not so close to the head. Perhaps a smidge more room below if you have it.

Congrats on capturing a rare fellow.

    Cheers

I agree on a bit more room, but very nice as is.

One of the rare ones; wonder why some are virtually gone, others still in millions - really nice exposure and details but tight particularly at bottom
first time to hear of and see this species, tfs

Karl, lovely image, sharp where it needs to be...there was a Harris Sparrow, in Deep River, this year and last year in Bracebridge. They are tough to get in breeding plumage, as is this bird. Where did you take this? Northern Manitoba?

It is a little large in the frame but very sharp. I don't think I have ever seen this bird. For your one and only shot of this species it is a good one.
