This was taken on a rocky beach on the North Shore of Long Island, NY. Typical habitat for these little ones and it is incredible how they blend in. I can know that they are there and until they move, it is hard to spot them.

    Nice environment photo, Grace,
the chick looks great and the rocks are very nice.
Nice DOF choice, the f10 got a lot in focus.

Lovley image Grace - I went to a recent talk by Art Wolfe here in sydney and he has a book called Vanishing Act that shows animals hidden in their environment. I loved the concept and will explore in myself.

Nicely conceived and composed image Grace. Excellent sharpness and detail. It is nice to see images of subjects in relation to their environments

Beautiful Grace, everything that is in the dof is sharp as a tack. Perfect exposure.
