    Default Night Heron

Taken at Ding Darling, FL. Light was harsh as it was mid afternoon but seeing this yellow crowned? night heron hunting by the side of the drive I couldn't resist. Got quite a crowd around me, though strangely, watching me, watching the bird!

Added canvas to the left and removed part of the stick middle right (still keeping the natural history of the image)

    Kind regards.

    Stuart:

You exposed well and some modest bounce off the sand helped provide a little fill on the underparts.
    Nice eye, food item.

Sharp. Good sense of the environment without being over powering.

    Your Sigma did well.

Only wish would be to have been able to see the feet.

    Cheers

Nice capture and exposure. I am bothered by the OOF FG grass and wish I could see the feet.

Thanks for the honest critique chaps. Apart from the light angle, I didn't dare go left as I'd already been warned by a park official about gators and me being to close to the water. Would have loved to have the feet also but this was the first night heron in three years visiting FL I'd seen awake! lol

    thanks.

Extremely well done for the harsh light. Excellent sharpness and I like the prey.
