I got out yesterday for a few hours looking for new arrivals, this Field Sparrow was one of the birds I managed to find and photograph. Even though our weather has been summer-like lately, birds are just trickling in. This was my first chance to try my D3S, I am liking it.

Nicely focused but I find the image far too bright I refer in particular to the bird and branch, lowering the brightness will improve detail and contrast.

I like the pose and open beak, and there's a lovely impressionist feeling to the BG. I agree with Jonathan that some reduction in brightness of bird and perch, or maybe some s/h, would help.

Drat, not sure where my head was at, very light. My eyes must have been tired.
    Thanks Jonathan and Bill

Excellent singing pose, Paul. I noticed the repost. It looks better.
