BIF #8 - The Great Grey Ghost

This image was taken in the winter of 2009, it was posted in Avian.

I thought since this was my 500 posted image, it would be a fitting image, my favourite, not making any changes, already printed on canvas and hanging in my basement as a watercolor. Again Spicify Effect...

It may not be the nicest, the sharpest, best background image but the head turn and the wing position is what its all about...Bird Photography.

Its been a great 4 years at BPN, much of that in OOTB but I've delved into it all Landscapes, Macro, Avian, Animals. Made many new friends and seen so much lovely work,

Paul, I would need a defibrillator if I saw this in my viewfinder! Nothing short of spectacular in my book. Love how the colors match the bg so uncannily and the mega-intense stare from the owl. Gorgeous image. You are right--it is all about the owl and its position. Wonderful capture! The colors in the bg are similar to those of the owl, which is perfect. Congratulations on 500 images and 4 years! Lots of work and sharing. I'm delighted to know this image is printed and hanging in your house. I love it when photographers display their images in their homes!!!
