Well, technically a White-throated Sparrow with an itch. Taken yesterday in New York's Central Park, in fairly harsh light.

    D7000, 80-400 VR @ 400, ISO 640, 1/1250s @ f/6.3 manual (slightly underexposed); Handheld.

Unusual pose (in a good way), and I love the great view the foot's underside. Harsh light can often be minimized with flash if you are close enough (or with a Better Beamer). I agree about the noise so I am curious about the crop, or is it the result of lightening heavy shadows due to the strong overhead light?

Thanks guys. This was not a large crop, maybe 80% of FF. The noise is due to the fact that I underexposed it and brought it up in ACR. I probably could have mitigated it a little with some NR on the undertail, but didn't try.

Great shot. I really like the unusual pose, love the lifted foot, great perch, and you handeld the harsh light pretty well.
    Well done.
