    Default Namibia Big Sky

    Attached Images Attached Images

This is a 10 Shot panoramic image captured recently in the Namib Rand conservancy in Namibia. This was just after sunrise with the sun directly behind me. I was fascinated by this outcrop and how it emerged out of the grass plains and a single frame did not convey the total impact of this scene with the clouds. I use LR 4 to merge into panorama in CS 5. Save as TIFF and processed with basic workflow back in LR 4. Look forward to your comments

Andrew - nicely done. It conveys a real feeling of the expanse and the color of the sky is beautiful.

The wonderful sky makes this for me along with the beautiful light.

You know I like this one, Andrew. Gorgeous light, scene and colours. The pano stitch worked a treat. Makes me want to pack my bags and go to Namibia tomorrow!

Very nice work Andrew, love the cloud formations. Looks like you stitched 10 verticals? I try to shoot my pans with a series of verticles as often as possible too.

    Andrew,

This is the type of image that is award-winning. Well done.

Some might comment (and I am not necessarily referring to BPN'ers) on the central placement of the land mass, but the clouds are so perfectly concentric, circling the land. Everything clicked and you did a great job capturing it.

Thanks all for the really kind words. Morks , next year man , next year :) Andrew, yip mate It may be more work in regards to file size but the ability to capture in portrait beats the single landscape image by a hands down :) Robert, thank you for truly inspiring words :) I was very intrigued by the formation (land mass) for some reason and captured numerous images with it as the main focal point. I was hoping one would have the eye also drawn to the tree on the RHS at the time but was blown away by the cloud formations and it balance out for me. Thanks again :)
