    Canon EOS 7D Lens 400mm L USM 5.6 ISO400 F8.0 1/320 Kenko Ext Tubes stacked(68mm) flash 8 April 2012 11.07am Some butterflies along with a few lacewings were swarming to an exudation from the bark of a eucalypt tree and this Lacewing was snared in an adjacent spider web and was still alive at this stage.

    Hi Rod. This is a very cool-looking lacewing with those distinct patterns on the wings - we don't have any lacewings in N. Am. that look anything like this. This is well photographed against a clean background and clearly shows this insect's predicament. If this was mine, I'd be tempted to clone some of the flash-generated spectral highlights on the head and thorax - minor tweaks to a strong image. Well done!
