    I think it might have been better had the head of the fish still been attached but given this bird's look he wasn't waiting and certainly was not sharing!

    Nice timing of the capture and background. Also love the eye contact. My main
    concern is the whole image seems a bit soft. Was there much of a crop to this?
    Maybe not sharpen in post processing?

    Great shot. Very nice pose and great to see it with its meal, but agree on image being to soft.

    Hi Doug and Robert,
    Im not clear in what you both are saying regarding a "soft" image. Does that mean its too smooth?
    I use Photoshop elements and Lightroom 4.0 but there was no sharpening done in the processing, so should I add grain to the image? The image was cropped but not by much , I would say this image is 80% of the original. In fact, what I really liked about the image was it required so little processing.

    If you didn't do any sharpening, then you'll definitely want to apply that. When I do my post processing,
    sharpening is the last thing I do.

    I applied some quick sharpening to your image. Its not perfect, but I think you'll see a little difference.
