    Default Ruby-crowned Kinglet

I was sitting on the edge of the local marsh a few days ago, trying for a Swamp Sparrow for this months theme, when I saw some movement out of the corner of my eye. I swiveled right and fired two frames before this fidgety little bird took off. Not an easy guy to capture, so I was pleased to get him with his signature crown showing. Cloned out some vegetation.

    Bill:

Sharp, well exposed, 'active' pose, well scaled perch.

Good job catching this little guy.

    Cheers

Very nicely done. Very rarely is one lucky enough to see that ruby crown so well!

Very well done Bill. I don't often see one without some part of the bird blurry from motion, they rarely sit still long enough for a photo and when they do they are often in shadow. You must have been sitting very still for a while to get this shot. Agreed nicely done to get the open crown.
