    Default Common Goldeneye

From Vancouver Island, on a tour led by Glenn Bartley.
    Canon 7D with 500 mm lens, f/7.1, 1/640, ISO 400.
Color Efex 4 to remove blue cast and bring out tonal detail (too much, maybe?)

    Richard:

A big welcome to BPN, a great place to learn and grow as a nature photographer.

Striking pose/perspective on this guy. Looks rather cartoonish. The water on the head is always a bit of a challenge. It might be interesting to see the version without the Color efex pro, to see what you started with. You can do a repost of the original by replying to your own thread.

The major concern with this image is the out of focus bird on the right. It is so dominant that it really hurts the subject. Do you have any other clean frames of this fellow?

    Once again, welcome to BPN.

    Cheers

Thanks, Randy, for the comment. I'll post the "original" version later. Yes, I have many images of this duck without the blurred head - this frame, with the blurred head, is the one I like best (because it is giving him something to look at), but I was curious to see if others would also find it amusing, or just a flaw. Thanks for the feedback. - Rich
