Even though the Atlantic Ocean is not far off, we have a little "prairie" in the name of the Tantramar Marsh close by. Grassland birds like Savannah Sparrows and Bobolinks love it and are abundant. It is a joy to venture out to their habitat in late summer and have both species going about their business around you. Take your mosquito repellant with you though!

Nothing done to the image but a crop and sharpen. I would have placed the bird a little more to the left had it not been for the OOF flower head, left centre.

    John:

Nicely exposed, sharp good pose, nice catchlight.

Agree about placing him more to the left, but understand your reasoning. If your standards allow, could crop as desired and clone out the offending plant.

    Cheers

Nice sharp details and very nice light. I really like the position of the bird on the front plant and then those same plants blurred in the bkgd.

Nice one, John. I like the alert pose, soft light, and the lovely perch. My first reaction was to crop from the left and take out the left-most flower head; but after trying a browser crop I see your point. The plants on the left balance the comp.

I like it as presented. Nice light, very good pose and sharpness. I like the plants around.

Oh yes, I like the bird in habitat shot, I am always looking out for something like this. Great pose I like the feet at different heghts, I guess he is perched on dock seed head.

Thanks everyone. Yes Jonathan- some sort of Polygonum anyway.
