Only one eligible image for this theme, though I was really hoping for more. Maybe we can redo this theme sometime, after people have had a chance to play with the techniques more.

Nice use of light rays, among other effects, to create a dramatic image. Very well done, Dennis!

Congrats Dennis. Christopher, don't take it personally that others didn't try. It's a lot of steps that I want to try but this was just too busy a time---spring stuff, Easter, family, etc. Also, still haven't found that photo in my archives that would be useful for this type project. Probably true of others.

Congratulations Dennis! Wonderful composition. Thank you Christopher. I too personally missed the theme being away for last two weeks. I agree, we should try this theme again in future.

Christopher, Thanks so much for taking the time to write up the technique. I did try it but I felt my base image wasn't the right one. I'll have to try to capture an image that will work with the technique and try again.

Dennis, even though you were the only entry- your image deserves the first place win no matter what- it is top notch for sure!!

Dennis, congratulations - it would have been a winner if there had been 100 entries Thanks, Christopher, for the tutorial and inspiration. A revisit of the theme sounds like a good idea.

    Thanks, everyone.

Actually, I don't usually know what the theme is, and it was only coincidental that I posted the image at the right time. I'm glad I did. Not because it won, but because I think rays is a wonderful theme. It's an element that can add substantially to the mood of an image.

Thanks, Christopher, for your tutorial on rays. It was a gargantuan effort and much appreciated. I very much admire the images you've posted that contain them.
