This is an image from 2008 that I never processed. I have a lot of loon images

Post: CS5, selective sharpening, detail extractor on whites and some of the shadowed areas, crop from right and top. 80% of original frame. Light noise reduction on water.

I liked the strong side lighting here, and the sunrise reflected in his cornea. I am really looking forward to this years loon season!

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

    Cheers

A real beauty - wonderful detail in the plumage, I like the size in the frame too.

Nice close-up, love the eye...especially the slight shdow in it caused by the light angle. I'd consider burning the darks on the plumage in LRC, but still good as is.

    Thanks everyone.

Daniel, I was struck by the way the sun lit up the dark feathers on the RLC, and tried several different techs to darken them, but wasn't happy with the result, so stuck with the original.
