John, this time after resizing, I used save for web and devices per your suggestion, no additional sharpening. Thanks for your help.

Great colors and background! I find the image a bit on the bright side, I may reduce the exposure just a notch. Very well done!

Superb Joel. Image just jumps off my (calibrated) display. Sharpness looks great. So you did not sharpening at all? If you use Bicubic sharper to resample, it does some sharpening so maybe that's all you did.

Thanks to you! ( your suggestions ) After usual processing I used image size with the bicubic sharpener option and after that I used save for web and devices per your suggestion. The jpeg looked really good to me so I posted it without any more sharpening.

The RAW file was very sharp straight out of the camera on this particular image.

I am a bit jealous Joel. I have been trying to get a closer shot of a blue bird for some time now. Great image.

I have been trying for 3 years!

I put up 6 nesting boxes last fall and got 1 nesting pair this spring.

I found out they love mealworms.....voila!

Joel, I have read about people who had bluebirds eating meal worms from their hands after the birds saw the real source of that treat. Good luck with your bluebirds. Eventually you should get some great shots of the whole bluebird family after the babies fledge.
