    Default Steppe Eagle

I discovered Steppe Eagles in India are a fan of garbage dumps and found myself standing at the top of a dump trying to capture these eagles in flight. I was concentrating so much that I did not notice the terrible smell and that all of my companions involved themselves elsewhere.

Great pose and background here, Nancy. I think you did very well despite what looks like a high sun. Might try to reduce the glare off the yellow part of the beak a bit. What a gorgeous eagle. I would have been entranced too, and oblivious to any smells!

Nice mottled BKGR. Not a fan of the pose however. Face could use some sharpening and the IQ in the shaded areas look suspect as if they havebeen over-lightened.... How long were you in India? For what?

Funny story. What we won't do for the shot huh? I like this. I like the underside view and the intent stare you captured.

Nice shot Nancy, two things struck me immediately first I think it is a little large in the frame, secondly my eye goes immediately to the bird's eye which appears a little soft. I would also try to lower the brightness or luminosity of the yellow edges to the mouth/gape area.

Thank you all for the comments. I seem to be struggling with sharpness issues and have tried several different pairs of glasses lately while post processing. Guess I better get new ones! Artie, I did use the highlight/shadow sliders and I agree that the shaded areas are overdone. I was very unsure about this image and wanted some feedback. I'll also work on the beak.

I was in India for 3 weeks. 2 weeks north of Delhi birdwatching and 1 week with Harshad Barve doing tiger photography. I had a fabulous time!

Yes. I got tigers! Harshad wants me to wait until he is back from his travels at the end of April before I post in Wildlife forum.

    And thank you, Robert.
