I found it interesting that the head of the Trumpeter Swan couple turned to this colour from pure white just a few weeks back.
Full frame plus added some canvas to the top and front.
    Thanks for looking.

Neat shot Karl, this the color I see here on the West coast all winter.
    Nice sharp close up detail.

Nice blacks and whites, Karl. A handsome portrait, to be sure.

Wonderful portrait. Excellent details, real nice background, great light, and very nice comp.
    Well done.

    Karl:

Your swan is sharp and well exposed. Nice BG.

Generally the color on their head comes from feeding in the water/lake bottom.

    Cheers

Hi Karl, I like the overall detail, especially on the bill, and yes, this is sharp. Comp wise, I feel he is sitting a touch low in the frame. I would add some space back below, and take a touch off the top where you have already added.

Good capture, delineating the fine features of the bird and attractively displaying them against a complimentary background.

Good exposure and beautiful details!! I too find it low in the frame...I'm thinking removing the TC to composing looser (or simply taking a few steps back) plus getting a bit lower would have been a good option here (if possible).
