Hi - comments welcome, taken waist deep in the water hidden in the reeds, the spoonbills were quite inquisitive as to what the **** I was doing :)

F4.5 - I have been shooting wide open as these were taken with a 500mm F4.5 on a monopod.
    200 ISO
    1/800th
    No EV
    500 MM

    Cropped a little.
Background cleaned up - duck on a rock removed.
    eyes selectively sharpened a little.

Hi Lance I don't blame them at all !!!!!! Just look at that face !!!!

Would go for more room around the bird and if you are setting up try photographing with the sun more on your back Seems its from the hard left

I do like the exposure and bg you got from the low angle Head angle looks good and its sharp right down to the bill tip !!! With birds moving I usually try to catch the legs without and overlap Just a personal thing To me they look better !!! Appealing image I like it a lot !! .... btw hope there a no crocs there M8t!!!!

Hey Lance, agree with Gus. Just a bit of center would have been perfect.
    Congrats,
