I havent done much bird photography lately. But I always have a few coot photos to fall back on :-) I was photographing pelicans that were preening on the right side of this log. saw this pair get on the log and they started poking each other. I had good cover on my left side so I carefully crawled closer. Got a few nice behavior shots.

    All comments welcome.

Hi Kaustubh, You captured very nice interaction here...Nice to see the coots on their feet . I have rarely seen them out of water.

Excellent details in black and nice details in whites of beak.

really sweet photo Kaustubh - I'm used to seeing them being grouchy and chasing each other off, love the rather hopeful expression on the bird on the left. Beautiful light and detail on their wonderful feet - gorgeous.

I just love their lobulated feet! I never knew they looked like this. Very cool. I like the hopeful look of the coot on the left. I wish I could see the eye of the right hand coot. I like the pano crop as well and the nice clean BG and log. Gotta say it again, I love the feet,
    Gail

Great low angle as expected from you. Beautiful light and the curious eye makes this shot for me.

What a great look at those feet. I never knew they were shaped like that kinda with sections on the toes. Very cool. I like the interaction, light and low angle

Hi Kaus, excellent exposure on these difficult characters, and your low angle works well. I like the scratching pose of the coot on the right, but wish we had a hint of eye somewhere. Good view of their feet, and just shows why they can run so fast across water.

I like the interaction, and of course the feet. Techs look good...just wish for a better head position on the right bird (like Gail I'd love to have seen its' eye).
