    Dumay:

Sharp, well exposed, snack a plus, nice water.

I think the long neck and smooth background reduce the impact of the shooting angle.

    Cheers

Beautifully sharp - what a neat eye he has and love the poor squashed bug. Beautiful colors and the water with the circular ripple just in front of him is gorgeous.

NIcely composed. THe blue water is a perfect compliment to the bird. Might remove the second catchlight?

Hi Bud, I like the curved neck and eye contact, and he seems pretty proud of his catch - not much to brag about. Good DOF on the darter, sharp, and just love the colour of the water.

We have to catch up some time. Im off to Kruger on friday for a three day weekend. Skukuza friday night, and Letaba saturday night. Cant wait.

Nice and close and funny to see a bug not a fish. I like the curve of the neck and the nice eye contact.

Very nice shot. Just love the long curvey neck, excellent light, like the bug, and great comp.
    Well done.

I'm actually glad you were not able to go lower for this one as I like the top view of the mostly submerged body. Great vertical comp (cropped from horizontal?) and I too love the water in this image, especially the fine ripples in front of the subject.
