    Default juvenile, Anna's, Allen's or Rufous?

    This youth has been hanging around the outside of the window above my computer desk. While charming, I have not been able to identify him or her, so I am asking for help.
    I live in Los Angeles, so it should be easier, but I am not sure.

    I wish I could answer you on the ID right away, but without my guides nearby I will wait for the experts...

    I like the sharpness and the subdued light (even with the flash). Had the head been tilted towards us that would have helped with what looks like a steepish angle. I would also make the pupil black, it has a bit of red from the flash.

    Must be nice to work on your computer and have this beautiful individual pose for you while at it!

    Steve,

    Greetings. No expert but inclined to say Allen's, based on location - on my marginal sampling I've seen a fair number of Allen's but not Rufous in So. Cal.
