This bee-eater presented you with a difficult task Haim. The angle of the light has made the resulting exposure very harsh and the front-on pose of the bird has created a probem with focusing, the bill and eye, however, appear sharp. If you had no alternative but to photograph from this angle, a fill flash for the right side (viewers right) would have helped to balance the exposure.

When you say 25% crop, do you mean 25% taken away, or 25% remaining?

That's a tough angle and it took me a bit to realize that the mouth is open. I wish for a slightly higher angle to get that "down the hatch" look.

    Thank you all.

    I mean 25% taken away. :)

Nice pose and beautiful bg. Unfortunately the shadows resulting from the side light hurt the image and the image is overall a bit dark. The bird's body bird appears soft on my monitor.
