Default Tagged Trumpeter Swan among the darkened trees

Folks, please permit me to post this image. I'm sure all of you can relate to the images that you love one minute and hate the next...when I first saw this one I was very happy with it, but now I'm not so sure? I'd sincerely appreciate some feedback here...
I added a little bit of vignetting, levels, curves, and cropped...
Many thanks for your kind consideration

Jack, I'm experiencing the same love/hate relationship to it to. I like the mood and the trees. I do wish that the bird was not in a pancake kind of pose so it had more interest. The dark vignette looks good :)

Thanks Denise...truthfully, I'd like the shot better without the bird...but I'll be curious to see what others have to say...an example reaction might go like this:
"I was disgusted by your photograph and threw up twice." or "Your sense of humor is decidedly un-funny and your photographs are disgusting." Just a couple of EXAMPLES to get you started, folks. Please do not quote me directly.

I think the spookiness of the trees is interesting. I agree with you that I like it better without the bird. How about some sort of interesting framing?

Possibly, Nancy! As I look at the picture now, I do like it again. I've posted a lousy image here, folks, and I'm sorry. I'll try to offer something less wishy-washy next time around...

Jack, I really like the image without the bird but most of all I love your humor

Cheryl, that's the secret: humor will keep us young while the rest of the world gets old...many lessons of that ilk can be found in "The Little Prince" as you already know...

And also: I rid the picture of that putrid swan. I eliminated the vignetting. Now we've got some as-shot ghostly trees. For some reason I'm very fond of this picture. Perhaps I'm a lunatic? Someone will tell me...

Jokes aside, I just love the repost. Suits me just fine.

Much appreciated, Hilary. I tell too many jokes, especially when writing on online forums. Many, if not most, of my jokes are quite bad. It's a nervous tic, that's how I look at it. Also, an excuse to write. No more jokes! Back to the trees, the limbs, the canopies!
