    Default Toad Skin Fract

One from a couple of weeks ago. I created a few detail images of a toad's skin and thought they might make for interesting fracts.

    Look forward to comments.

Andrew, this is intriguing study of design and texture; it reminds me of something you'd have seen in Fantastic Voyage or Inner Space; a very cellular dynamic of color, lines and depth. Very nice...in the real world, that would make for one very interesting toad! Nicely composed, wonderful processing.

I love this but for the single dissected spot on the lower frame edge near the middle. Is this a crop or the original capture?

Thanks John and Arthur for the comments.

Arthur this is pretty much full frame..I did give it a slight crop rotation to place the center white markings on a slight diagonal. I could easily crop out the dissected spot....or wait for them to emerge again when it warms up and re-shoot. BTW, the Wimberely single arm macro bracket is amazing...love using it. I am most likely going to head off to the Toronto Zoo on Friday for some poison dart frogs.

Now that is fascinating. Wow. Very nice use of the filter.

Thanks Andrew. If you crop out the offending spot then you will lose some or most of the diagonal.... (I am not implying that there is a good solution; pattern-type images can be problematic at times especially when there are different and significant elements to the pattern (like the spots here).

Andrew, I like the spotted pattern. This makes a nice abstract with wonderful colors and glow. I agree with the edge clean up. I'm looking forward to seeing your zoo shots!

Love the fract line and colors. Makes me think of something on a slide under a microscope. I like the diagonal white line.

Andrew, it reminds me of an abstract leopard skin. Very cool. I can hardly wait to see the poison dart frogs
