hi kent. love the perch, pose and backgroud a lot! and that's a beautiful bird. but the entire image looks soft. i was thinking it might be shutter speed at first, but after looking for a bit, i think it is just out of focus. hope you get the opporunity to capture this guy again!!

Hi kent - looks pixelated on my screen - maybe you have cropped in too far in a attempt to get the bird bigger in the frame.
    Great pose and background.

Hi Kent I vote for combo of the two? There is something going on with processing If you post the original will be glad to work it !!!

Do like the pose and beautiful bg !!! As presented would leave more room on the right side and less on the left We normally want more in the direction he is looking !!! Those are difficult little guys to go after !!!! btw early/late in the day will make all the difference in the world !!!

I think it is the crop. when I look at BreezeBrowser, the focus point is right on the bird. But it is pretty small in the frame. Wish I had a longer lens.

I will post the original a little later. Gotta run to my exercise session. Thanks for the comments.

This is basically the RAW file with no processing other than RAW Preprocessing in Nik Sharpener.

If this is a focus problem, then I am concerned about my camera/lens. As mentioned above, BreezeBrowser show the central focus point right on the warbler's breast, and the focus point is red.

Great composition and beautiful bird , I'm sure some of the cs3 experts like Alfred will make it a lot better.
    Congrats,
