    Crop for composition. Removal of a few distractions in upper RH, sharpening in CS5
    NR on BG in Noiseware Pro

    I think it's still a bit busy on the bottom, but not sure what has to go. It probably could have used a bit more DOF too.

    Ian, at this ISO you could have pushed the shutter speed and perhaps saved the whites which are blown in some areas. The image looks soft but I'm not sure why, as 1/2000 should have been enough shutter. It may be that the camera saw focus at the small twig in front, as there is no critical focus on the bird. Robins are a sure sign of spring!

    I love Robins Ian, even though they are common. Agree with Kerry on the softness. Some extra sharpening may save the image. I would give a little more room at the bottom, as the tip of the tail is right at the edge of the image. You could clean up the small elements bottom left. You also might want to try opening up the shadow areas on the bird's belly and flanks with some Fill light or other technique.
