Sid, this is superlative. I especially like the snow on the moose & the falling snow in the BG. Excellent techs. What a magnificent animal that looks to be in his prime & very healthy.

Hi Sid, can't help but think of 'Northern Exposure' when I see these guys.

Love the colours & comp, but feel the IQ isn't quite there compare to previous postings? Just looks a little 'thin', if you know what I mean.

Sid - Nice color tones and the snow on the antlers really adds to the feel of the harsh winter in YNP area.

    Sid.
This is the best moose image I've seen in years.
    Congrats.

PS: Steve might have a point - perhaps some latent detail that could still be extracted??

    Steve and Morkel,

I used NIK filters and final image size was around 600K at 100%. I had to save it at 60% to fit posting regulations. I will upload uncompressed image and post a link to night.

Thanks for your time and suggestions.

It's impressive to see the harsh climatic conditions the mooses have to cope with...
I am delighted with the rendition of the frozen vegetation. Like the others, I feel the JPEG compression has taken its toll, unfortunately. I am eager to see the uncompressed image!

Like the pose of the moose and the view he's giding of his antlers. Also like the snowed on brush and the color of the BG.

    Sid,

Thanks for the link to the higher resolution image, just goes to show why comments on image quality are limited by the source material. For me at least it remains a magnificent capture

Thanks for the additional image Sid.

Comparing the two side by side in fact there is very little lost between the two and having the right profile also shows no colour shift, absolutely spot on. The only areas that have lost a little detail is in the rack and eye, but not a deal breaker. Thanks for taking the time to do the comparison.

    cheers

Ditto. I also noticed a marked improvement in the rack and eye mostly. Thanks for posting, Sid.

You cant help but love this image Sid. The side turn, falling snow, clean and wonderfully cold feeling habitat, all of it adds to the overall effect. Frame it and hang it!
