Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Love to shoot these little guys. Living here in Michigan we see a lot of water but the shore birds are lacking. Hope you like it and comments are appreciated.

    Gary:

Outstanding shooting angle, soft, almost smokey looking BG, exposure. I like the framing too.

I might use the clone stamp to soften the specular highlights in the BG above the birds back.

The light was pretty bright, and the contrast fairly high. I could see a version with slightly reduced contrast, and maybe -1/4 stop of exposure.

I really like the impact of this one. Again, the angle is great.

    Cheers

Great shooting angle and the BG is terrific. Randy spoke about the two circular highlights and I could also see a reduction in exposure. Sharpness looks good as does the head turn.

Hi Gary, excellent low perspective, and you have captured a good pose. The turnstone is tack sharp, and you have brought out the detail nicely. I really like the colours of the BG too. I agree with Randy to blend in the two OOF specular highlights.

Thanks all for the input! Randy, those highlights are from the incoming wave. Really did not notice them before, but you have a good point. Will try one with them removed.

Love this ruddy portrait, Gary. I tried but didn't get anything this good of the ruddys. Fantastic low angle, and love the pose, and head angle, and IQ. Like the hint of surf in the background. Great work!
