    This was taken this Morning @ Sunken Meadow State Park.

    This is a shot that would not have worked in the past but the MkIII lets me pull it off.

    Canon 1DmkIII 500mm f4, 1/800 @ 7.1 Iso 800, Manual focus.

    Hi James,

    The composition works for me. The sun in the BG adds to the image but fill flash is need it.

    I really like this image James, the placement of the Rock and the position of the feet are fantastic. The water in the FG looks great also.

    I feel the same as Maxis, fill flash would have been very helpful here to balance the tones. In this case with Quick mask or layer mask or better yet to converted RAW images you could easily darken the BG a little and lighten the bird a little to balance the subject and BG tones.
    Strange that the feet look as if fill flash was used.

    I like the mood and composition and agree on fill flash. Maybe you could raise the color temperature a bit.

    Love the image James. The colors are nice and soft, very pleasing background...:D
