    Default Bar-headed Goose

Photographed in India, March 2012, as I was waiting to go on a boat ride. Sometimes having delays can be a good thing as a flock of these handsome geese were nearby. BTW, these geese fly over the enormous heights of the Himalayas during migration.

Canon 1D MarkIV, Canon 400 f4 IS DO, 1.4 teleconverter, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/2500. I did not have a tripod since I was getting on a smallish boat, but I did use a monopod that I carry as a combination walking stick/camera support.

    c & c most welcome.

A great image Nancy. I like the wings, the BG, & especially the water droplets. I have read about these geese & the migration route. The route is simply amazing. They fly at altitudes that many small planes are incapable of reaching.

I think this is really nice.
I would do a bit more sharpening on the head, but he flying water and wings are great.

Very nice capture Nancy. I agree with Dan re: a bit more sharpening of the head. Good angle and splash,

Thank you all. I agree with more sharpening on the head. The more eyes on an image, the more details noticed!
